Myles Mayne, PCA Founder Member and Business Coach
My clients quite rightly expect coaching to make an extraordinary difference to what they are able to achieve personally and in their business.
My aim is to make that difference a reality as quickly as possible
while developing the way that they think and act so that the
changes are long lasting.
Key areas of expertise include
Personal development and communication, risk management, business
strategy, product development, company mergers, change management,
communication and HR. After
some time in the military I built a career in the
financial and professional services sector in client facing consulting,
sales, marketing and senior management roles
Business Interests include academic research.
I particularly enjoyed working with Bath University School of
Management on research that linked business practice, in particular
human resource policies, with corporate performance and business value
and work with Nottingham university on how employees view their
employers.
These studies led me into work looking at behavioural change and performance with a special focus corporate culture change and organisational adaption and mitigation linked to climate change.
Understanding how
behaviours impact corporate and individual results has impressed
on me how effective and professional coaching can be the key to
unlock a largely untapped treasure trove in businesses of any
size in any sector.
My Coaching Approach builds on broad business experience enhanced by my consulting, management and mentoring skills.
My
studies at the Adler Institute in Canada have been a foundation for my
professional business coaching career with an emphasis on the
positive psychology approach and the 'Co-active Coaching'
methodology. I have undertaken a number of advanced courses with
the Oxford Group, Human Technics and the Bristol Business School at the
University of the West of England. In addition to the Inscape
DiSC behaviour profiling methodology I use various tools to enable
quick assessment of my clients abilities. I have been honoured to
serve on two large corporate thought leadership groups.
Why Coaching?
“For
me, it’s about enjoying the moment a client realises that coaching
has helped them reach the solution to a major business issue. They can see what amazing benefits their reaching a goal will bring and the certainty that this will now happenâ€. |
My Coaching Philosophy
Director,
manager and employee behaviours impact on so many aspects of business
and determine the success or otherwise of key
activities. These emotional and
psychological behaviours will be influenced by leadership,
procedures, training, incentives and peer pressure. Lasting change
in behaviours will only be brought about by first understanding and
then altering deeply held values and beliefs in a constructive and
positive approach to suit current or changing needs and conditions. I have recently written a paper on Coaching and Diversity.
Like other PCA coaches I use behavioural profiling as a certified trainer in my work with clients.
Accreditations/membership/qualifications I continue to
take courses at the (International Coach Federation accredited) Adler
School of Professional Coaching and have taken the Oxford Group Advanced
Coaching Course, the Human Technics Advanced certificate in Coaching
and Mentoring, am a current member of the ICF seeking the highest
level of accreditation which is internationally recognised and have
studied both NLP and Emotional Intelligence.
Having
spent a little time in HM Armed Forces including a stint at RMA
Sandhurst I acquired some valuable knowledge of leadership.
In the world of business I trained in the Miller
Heimann system of professional selling, the PACE methodology of
strategic account management and completed team building and
effectiveness training at the Ashridge School of Management. people and how they can be their very best is my passion.
In
summary, I look to improve the way people interact with each other
and to bring about real, meaningful and lasting change in behaviours,
performance and relationships. I use my extensive business
experience and creativity working through the medium of professional
coaching and mentoring.
